Troy, MI — Troy United continued its winning streak Wednesday night on home ice, earning a 6–3 victory over Orchard Lake St. Mary’s White. Troy United struck early in the opening period as alternate captain Ben Dumas (Athens High School) opened the scoring. Dumas later connected with Tyler Jewell (Troy High School), giving TU a 2–0 lead after one period. The momentum carried into the second period when Dumas netted his second goal of the night on the power play, pushing the advantage to 3–0. The third period belonged to captain Joey Clark (THS). Clark broke through on a breakaway after a stretch pass from defenseman Alex Chrobak (AHS) to make it 4–0. Orchard Lake responded with back-to-back goals to cut into the deficit, but Clark answered immediately with a quick backhander to restore the three-goal cushion at 5–2. The Eaglets added a power-play goal and pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker in the final minute, but Clark completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal to seal the 6–3 win. Congratulations to Troy United goaltender Noah Dumas (AHS), who earned his 17th win, setting a new team record. Troy United hits the road Friday night, traveling to Detroit Country Day for a 7:00 PM matchup against the ranked Yellow Jackets. Story by: Jason Clark Photo credit: Shannon Blaeske
