Troy, MI — Troy United delivered a memorable Senior Night performance at home on Saturday, earning a 9–1 mercy victory over Farmington United in a league matchup. The win completed a perfect 8–0 OAA White Division record and marked Troy United’s 21st regular-season victory, setting a new team record. Senior captain Joey Clark (Troy High School) opened the scoring early, chipping in a goal off an offensive-zone faceoff. Alternate captain Kaiser Ascencio (Athens High School) followed immediately, finishing a play set up by senior defenseman Quentin Gatto (THS) to make it 2–0. Senior alternate captain Ben Dumas (AHS) took over from there, scoring twice later in the period to give Troy United a commanding 4–0 lead after one. The second period saw senior defenseman Lucas Giorio (THS) extend the lead with a power-play goal. Penalty trouble briefly slowed Troy United’s momentum, allowing Farmington to get on the board with a goal on a two-man advantage. Dumas answered quickly, completing his hat trick on a feed from senior Tyler Jewell (THS) to restore control. Troy United added to the offensive outburst in the third period. Clark capitalized on a Griffins turnover for a breakaway goal, but the night belonged to Dumas, who netted two more goals in the final frame to finish with five goals on the night. Senior alternate captain Matthew Van Raemdonck (THS) was named Player of the Game for his defensive play, consistently limiting Farmington’s offensive chances. Troy United now turns its focus to the road, traveling to Lakeland Arena on Friday night to take on the Walled Lake Whitecaps.
